YOU:create … week 27

Hey, guys… I know, it's the wrong day to have a YOU:create link up. :) But tomorrow I'm scheduled to post over at (in)courage, so I am doing your free download of doodles today instead.

No worries if you normally participate and don't have your own creative project ready to go… you can come back tomorrow and still link up. I just wanted to make sure it was available at some point this week!

Today I am posting some more card options for you all. I find that I often just want to check in with people simply to let them know they are being thought of and loved. It's not always because they need a get well card, and it's not always on their birthday or a special occasion. So I made you all some "just a note" cards for those times when… well… it's just a note. :)

Here's what's in today's download:

note quilted copy

If you'd like a copy of these doodles for yourself, all you have to do is click the button and it will take you to the download page:

I can’t wait to see what you guys came up with this week! Just click below and follow the instructions to link to your project. When it asks you to choose the web or a file for your thumbnail, choose web. Then it will take you to a list of the images on the page you are linking to and you’ll be able to choose a photo to represent your project.

YOU:create … week 25

Well, it looks like the One Word doodles were a hit … because I had a few requests to add some late submissions. :) I loved getting to doodle these, so I've added the following words to today's YOU:create download:

allow
engage
eucharisteo
faithfulness
gentleness
goodness
light
mindful
prayer
self-control
servant
transform
whole
yes

Here are a few examples:

eucharisteo

yes

light

You can download these additional words here: DOWNLOAD

Also, at some point the link for the words in the first post stopped working, so I re-uploaded the original words. If you had problems getting them, the new link to download the 62 words from a few weeks ago is here: ORIGINAL WORDS

::

I also had another idea that I'd like your feedback on. Last week I wrote about "Selah" and happened to remember that I had made a word doodle for it, so I used it to start the post.

Are there any of these words that you would like me to talk about? Is there a certain angle on any of the words that you want me to write on and discuss? You can go back to the One Little Word post to see all the words to choose from, as well as the words listed today. If you do want me to talk about any of them, just let me know in the comment section and I'll work my way down the list. :)

YOU:create ... week 24

I got an email last week from a reader who was in desperate need of some original valentines to send to friends and family. So I doodled together a few little sayings that you can print out on a card or stationery or whatever your big hearts desire.

In lieu of candy, consider it my Valentine's Day gift to all of you. Which, of course, means you have to be my valentine. :) Just don't tell Riley. He's the jealous type.

I hope having your word displayed somewhere prominent helps you throughout this year, and that the other words fill you with inspiration. I know they certainly did that for me. I thought of each of you as I wrote them out and prayed that your year was filled with much learning and grace.

YOU:create ... week 22

I've gotten about a third of your One Little Word submissions ready to go, as I'm doing everything a bit slower than I was planning on this week. While I finish them up for you to download in next week's YOU:create, I thought I would offer up some more card designs you can use.

I doodled these for those times I need a way to send someone encouragement... offer them peace or hope or simply a word to let them know they aren't in it alone.

I often put these designs four to a sheet on cardstock, cut them and send them as a simple postcard. It's a nice way of sending a little love. The last one, a quote by Victor Hugo, will always be my favorite for absolutely every occasion.

YOU:create ... week 21

People, I miss painting. I'm not brilliant at it, but I love doing it. And I love giving them away. And on weeks when I get my tushy up a little bit every day and piece one together, I will be giving them away to all of you. Here.

But on those weeks when my tushy isn't up [let's face it... I can't do squats and leg lifts anymore, this tushy ain't seen "up" in awhile. :)] then I figure I still need to do something creative.

That's the point of these Thursdays, isn't it? That no matter what our worlds hand us, there is still something in us. And that something needs to be fed.

It's called creativity.

And I refuse to lose mine.

So on those weeks when I don't get a canvas made, I'm just moving my Friday Five doodling giveaways to Thursdays instead. Because I still like giving away free stuff. And I still love being creative.

No matter how big or small.

This week's giveaway is a bit of a delayed bringing-in-the-new-year doodle. I find that in my scrapbooking projects throughout the year, sometimes I like to stick the date or the year on the page in creative ways.

Hopefully these little 2011 doodles will help spark a creative page or two in you. They're simple, but can be recolored, made smaller to be placed on a photo or a card, or used as an embellishment. Whatever your creative mind decides.

And I have an idea for next week's YOU:create, but it all depends on whether or not you're interested.

If you look over to the right, I put my One Word of 2011:

1photo

on my sidebar and linked it to my post on praise. I wanted a very simple, visual reminder for myself to keep my focus, and to point others to it as well.

Would you like a simple reminder of your One Word?

If you do, tell me your word in the comment section between now and next Wednesday, and I'll compile handwritten versions of your words, too. You can put it on your blog, use it in your scrapbooking for the year, tape it on your bathroom mirror, whatever works for you!

And if you're looking for "One Word" inspiration, you should check out Alece's blog where a ton - and I mean a ton - of people linked up their One Word posts. Inspirational is an understatement.

In the meantime, click the "download" button below for today's doodles.

Friday Five: christmas cards

friday five new

While I can't make photo cards for all of you, I thought you might like some of the doodles I used as cards in the past. Before I had a cute dog to take humiliating Snuggie pictures of, I used to make doodles like the ones below, print them four to a sheet on cardstock, cut them and mail them as postcards.

It's super fast and easy, and also saves money on postage. And now they're yours to use however you like... as a Christmas card, as thank you postcards for those fun Christmas gifts, scrapbook pages... whatever your heart desires!

Hope you enjoy!

I’m going to be linking my post to Shannon’s Take Five entry [she takes 5 minutes to write 5 things about her week]. Head on over if you want to participate and link up. :)

Have a great weekend, friends, and enjoy the people you love!
