Foot In Mouth

Just checking in to let you know I’m still here. Things are getting rougher for me with each reduction and I just haven’t been able to get a post finished to share with you, but didn’t want you to think I dropped off the face of the Earth or anything! I’ll post something more in depth soon, but I’m leaving you with this little bit of funny to tide you over until then…

Since we’ve covered in numerous past posts like this one, or this one, that I frequently put my foot in my mouth and do ridiculous things, it makes sense that the following commercial cracks me up every.single.time. it comes on television.

Hope it makes you chuckle, too :)

Who can blame the guy? Sister Mary Catherine doesn't look ANYTHING like the nuns in the Sound of Music! An honest mistake, I'm sure. ROFL ...

Thinking of you, praying for you, dear Sara! And praising God that you can still find laughter in the middle of your trials. :)

Continuing to pray for you Sweetie. I particularly appreciate your sense of humor during this time. Love and hugs

I'm embarrassed to admit that it took many times of seeing that commercial to finally get it! All the nuns I know STILL wear full habits and actually look like nuns!

Glad to hear you are still with us and keeping your chin up. Lots of people are praying for you.

  14. Dear Sara,
I love that ad as well. And I guess we know what he was doing in Cancun, right? As Heidi said, It is good to hear from you even if it is that things are very difficult for you. Hope you can feel all these hugs and supportive thoughts and prayers for you.

Yep! You were right! But I'm not chuckling. I'm BUSTIN' up!! lol Thanks for the good laugh. I'll be back with the fam later to see it again. And the campaign is officially posted today with the $100 Amazon gift card, if you feel up to coming by and reading. Maybe it would offer a distraction. If I'm not good for anything else, I know I can always be a dsitraction to people who are actually trying to get something done! Of course praying for you and sending you love.

  21. That is a very funny commercial. All I remember about the nuns in my day was the really, really big rulers they carried around, like religious gunslingers.

I look forward to every post. You are always in my thoughts.

  28. Sara, I haven't seen your blog in a while, and I'm sorry you're struggling so hard right now. I wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of you for a long time, especially when you write about choosing joy in the midst of pain and struggle. I've been struggling myself with chronic pain, steroid injections, bilateral neuropathy, blah, blah, blah and other things that are just life on life's terms. August 18 was the 7th anniversary of my husband's death from a glioblastoma brain tumor. However, whenever I think of you, I am reminded to choose joy. I'm not going to fall into the "pit of despair" (I love The Princes Bride). Even on very difficult, painful days, we can find joy, humor, and grace, sometimes just minute by minute. You are in my prayers! Much grace and joy to you!

  30. Hey Gitz!
Just saw that you started "following" me on Twitter. I have a confession to make, and if you had any doubts of how big a loser I was before, this should seal the deal for you...
I only signed up for Twitter because I was leaving town on the day that you were beginning your medication reduction, and it was the same day that little Stellan was in such bad shape. I couldn't bear to leave town and not get any updates on the two of you, so I joined and had the tweets sent to my phone for the weekend.
Phew! There. I feel better now. Just had to explain myself so that when you looked at my twitter page you didn't begin to wonder why on earth I was only following you =-X Now don't tell anyone about this, because I don't want people knowing how invested I become in people that I don't even know IRL ;)
